So Apple tweaked reminders just enough that I started using it and now I find my older laptop "isn't compatible" with lists after my iPhone iOS13 update made updated my primary reminder's list? And vice versa, you can't see lists created on older software on Catalina?

WTH happened to "It Just Works" Apple?

Garbage, just garbage
