Remote access on Marvericks

Hello community,

I have a question.
How do you guys control remotely your mac? Or what is your favorite app/osx feature that you use the most?

I enabled a feature on system preferences on "share", remote access (I really don't know in English version) so I can use VNC to control my mac.
I'm now at work, and this is kinda slow (like connection speed is slow). It takes time to receive the buffers.
Anyone knows a program that is better than VNC, or at least better than the stock osx feature?

The easiest solution is to use TeamViewer. You can remotely control a computer (mac or pc) from another and its free.
