Ok I may be clutching at straws here but I'm wondering if there is an application that will allow me to access my office Mac from my home Mac, primarily to transfer files I may have forgotten to take home.

The key point here is that I don't leave my office Mac on, so is there a remote app that can also start the office Mac up ready for use remotely? Presumably there is one that would wake it but I prefer to shut down when I leave.

To turn it on...no.

To wake...maybe.

Check out TeamViewer.com, not sure about the wake on LAN feature though. You might also try VineServer and Chicken of the VNC.

Thanks for those links. Seems you are right, none will allow me to turn the other mac on :(

Can’t help you to turn on your office Mac but for the rest part, you can check out remote support appliances from RHUB that has guaranteed connection and hassle free access and sharing of files and documents.
