I am in the process of configuring a Windows 10 laptop to give to my brother. He lives over two hours away from me and knowing how computer illiterate he is, I am keen to learn of a stable and easy to use method to remotely access his machine or have him share screen from which I can take control.

I will be accessing his machine via my iMac i7 5K (2017)

Can anyone offer any recommendations, please?

Provided you are configuring a Windows Pro edition and not a Home one, you have the option of using microsoft's Remote Desktop. It is fast and reliable, plus there are free clients for mac and iPad even.

Enable Remote Desktop feature in Windows 10 and remote access from your Mac with the Microsoft Remote Desktop app.

Alternatively, you can use third-party apps like TeamViewer or AnyDesk for the same purpose.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I ended up using Chrome Remote Desktop. It’s simple to use and has proven stable in the few times I have used it.
