Remote App and itunes question!

I just got a 27" iMac and love the remote app on my iPod touch but my girlfriend changes the songs constantly while I am on the computer and iTunes pops up every time she changes the song. Is there any way to change this so that iTunes doesn't pop up when she changes the song using her iPod or iPhone?

Maybe if you used Spaces?

You could always hit the '+' button on itunes so the window is really small. Then position it out of your vision and when it pops up you wont see it.

This won't work because if I am typing then it still interrupts me by changing the window. And I don't see how spaces would help? Explain?
