Remote app on iPhone can't play to iPhone?

Is the Remote app not intended to play your remote libraries on the iPhone it's running on? I can't make it happen, and the AirPlay list doesn't include "iPhone".

No, it's only meant to act like a remote to control iTunes on your desktop. To play on the phone you'd have to be connected over a network where the music files can be played from an app on your phone.
