Hi, folks.
I've got a mini network going at the house and have an old beige G3 that's in the living room without a keyboard or monitor that I leave on 24/7 for itunes access from other computers over Airtunes. I'd like to be able to add songs to the G3 from my other macs and have them show up in the shared music without too much trouble. When I mount the volume from the G3 on my ibook and add a song, it doesn't actually show up in the G3's itunes. I'm sure that Apple's Remote Desktop would do this, but $150 (with student discount) seems rather steep for such a simple process. Any ideas?

Chicken of the VNC.

Free and effective - all you need to do is enable "Apple Remote Desktop" in System Preferences...->Sharing (on the G3). If your G3 is running an older version of OS X, you might also need to install a free VNC server.

Search the forums if you have any issues with setting it up.
