Remote desktop to windows 2000

Hello,

I am a new Mac user so please excuse some dumb questions.
I am tring to do a remote desktop connection to a Windows 2000 machine by using the RDT 2.1.1 client from Microsoft, but it seems to crash when it makes a connection.

The Windows 2000 is setup correctly because I can connect to it from an XP machine.

Also in the Terminal Service Manager on Windows 2000 I can see the connection starting but on the iMac all I see is a black window.

I am seeing other people with the same problem but no solutions to the problem.
Can somebody help me? Is there other software I can use?
