Hi,
the optical drive of my iMac broke down and I can't install any OS. I also have an MacBook alu (no FireWire). Is there any way to install leopard (or snow leopard - retail) on the iMac via Remote Disc sharing?
Or is there a TargetMode via lan-wire?

Any suggestion would be great!

I think/thought remote disc sharing worked both ways. However, you can always create an image of the DVD and make a bootable flash drive.

Hi Jes,
thats a great idea, how do I do that? Got an usb-stick and the dvd, but I do not have any idea how to create an bootable image-copy on the stick!?

disc sharing wont work, or I do something wrong. MacBook is setup (Preferences enabled). But my iMac wont recognize the DVD, either via ethernet, nor WiFi (open Network).

Hi,
I achieved making a usb-stick with a bootable snow-leopard installer disc. But this stick only works on my MacBook (alu), and not on my iMac (alu):(. Has someone an idea?
