Hey,

this whole process has been calling me nuts. I am running a macbook 10.5.8 and bought an iphone 5 recently. Turns out you need at least 10.6.x to install Itunes 7, which is the only way you can configure your iphone...

So I purchased a snow leopard OS DVD and wanted to install it. Turns out that my DVD drive is broken...

So I am trying to install it remotely via another macbook with a working dvd drive in my network.

Everything seems to be going fine, until I get the following error message:

So I start the "Remote Install MAC OS X" on the machine with the DVD in the drive and restart my computer and press the option key.

My problem is that I don't see any Wireless Networks that I can choose in order to access the OSX Install CD.

Please help this is driving me absolutely nuts and all I want to do is use my iphone 5 and get Itunes 7.

Thanks for your help!

Update:

I simply copied the content of the DVD on an old hard drive of mine and installed it from there. Still curious to know how it could have worked though :D
