Hello - somebody stole my iphone yesterday. I initiated a remote wipe immediately and received an e-mail, confirming that the wipe had been started. However, I still see the device on the mobileMe page (with "location based services not activated") and I haven't received a final e-mail that confirms that the wipe has been completed successfully. Do I have to be worried? Thanks for your help!

I tried this with my ipad and I don't think you get a email saying it was successful. Likely because the device can't do anything then. If it was started rest assured it is wiped, it goes to the black apple logo screen with progress bar under it. Can't do anything with it once that is started I believe.
