My iMac won't allow me to access a remote app for school.

The error message is:
Cannot connect to server "DC1-W-ILXA044P". Try
again in a few minutes or contact your help desk.
Error number: 51

This is currently the only issue that I am having after a crash that required a non invasive re install of osx 10.8.4 Mountain Lion.
This is an app that is run from my schools website.
Their tech support could not even ping my machine, it was blocked from them, I can ping my own machine. However that was only while trying to ping in osx. They could reach me and remotely control things thorough windows when I had parallels running.

The problem manifests itself at different points during the startup even allowing me access to the program for a few seconds at a time but the same message comes up.

The application is Multisim 11.0 run through Citrix. I have no other problems with the schools other areas. The error message is a Citrix error message. It appears that a port is blocked or something similar.
This behavior occurs with or without a firewall or virus checker active.

Any ideas or suggestions?
