I would like to free up some space on my mac and want to delete my iPad and iPhone apps from iTunes.

If i do this will they get wiped from device on the next sync?

I have switched the backup method from the mac to iCloud for both devices, will this keep the apps on the devices because they are now synced with iCloud backup or do they have to be on the mac too?

Do you use iCloud backup? Is it better than the traditional pc backup (in my case trying to free up space).

thanks

You can't do it

Once you uncheck sync apps it will wipe the device

To switch to iCloud back you just have to bite the bullet, let the apps get wiped and re download on the iPad using iCloud / purchases.
