Resolved Remove CD drive in slot-loading iMac G3?

I want to remove the CD drive in my slot-loading iMac G3, but I can't figure out how. I also can't seem to find any tutorials on the Internet that explain how to do this. Any suggestions or help?

Could you share that because I want to remove the CD drive in my slot-loading jelly bean iMac G3 and replace it with a CD/DVD burner.

Do you have the proper adapter for it? Slot loading G3 iMacs and G4 Cubes use a different optical drive than other slot loading drives in that their connector is rotated 180 degrees. Because of this, an adapter is required. They have been made for G4 Cubes, but I haven't yet seen one for a G3 iMac. A Cube adapter could possible be used with a G3 iMac.

Yeah, I do have the adapter, but it doesn't fit in the caddy computer that I wanted to. Oh well.

There'd be no point. This drive is not a DVD reader/burner.
