Hello,

I am trying to remove an email addresses from iMessage but it does not seem to allow any option to remove. I have gone into the settings app and unticked the receiving email address but I can’t remove it. The address is seperate from my iCloud email address. (See below for my iMessage setup)

To make things worse, now when I send a message they are not being sent by my default sending address (the only ticked account) but instead by the email which is unticked! In fact I have not changed my default sending account in many years and prior to unticking the receiving address this was not an issue.

Also despite unticking the email address as a receiving address, I am still receiving messages sent to that address. I have tried switching on and off, signing out and back in and disabling and re-enabling iMessage but this does not fix it.

Surely there is a way to remove/delete an email address from iMessage?

Many Thanks!

P.S. This is my setup...

You can receive iMessages to an reply from:

✔️ Mobile Number
✔️ default-email@email.com
✔️ iCloud-email@email.com
old-email@oldemail.com

Start New Conversations From:

❌ Mobile Number
✔️ default-email@email.com
iCloud-email@email.com
old-email@oldemail.com

Messages & new conversations are being sent by old-email@oldemail.com despite this address being unticked and never being set as a default sending address. I also still receive iMessages sent to old-email@oldemail.com
