Remove instrument from mix with solo track?

Hi,
I'm totally new to all this sort of stuff — sorry if I use the wrong terminology.

I have 2 tracks: 1 with just 1 instrument and 1 that is the full mix of a song (which you may recognize).

Using Logic, is it possible to remove whatever is in the single instrument track from the full mix?

I've read about making them mono and inverting the phase of one, but I can't get it to work and really am driving blind....

Is it even possible?!
