Hi,

As the topic says. Can I remove iPhoto from applications without losing the library? I will start using another app where i will put all new media files in a costum directory but the old ones i want to remain unchanged.

Yes, because all your pictures are in the iPhoto Library file which is in your Pictures folder. But why remove it anyway? It doesn't take up much room, it's doing no harm where it is, and at some time in the future, you may want to use it again.

Also, I'm not sure how you would even view your iPhoto library without iPhoto.

Thanks I solved it altogether by exporting all media to a separate folder and then removed iphoto and library. Dont get me wrong apple do a lot of awesome stuff but without ibloato my life feels better.

Its not really the app footprint more about the spinning wheel of death. Im sensitive about things stalling my computer.
