Remove MDM Configuration profile (iPad 4th Gen)

Buddy of mine got an iPad from a business that closed down. But when we tried DFU restoring after setup there is a screen that says configuration and then asks for a username and password the business did not have. Is there a way to remove this at all or is the iPad basically worthless?
