Is there anyway I can stop my mac asking me for a password to install applications, change settings etc

i understand this might be a good security feature for many but I am the only one that uses my mac so for me its a pain.

any help would be great

Thanks

It's more so about things installing without your knowledge than being installed by other users.

I know you can have a blank password. In that case you'd just have to hit enter.

I never thought about anything installing without my knowledge.

In that case I shall just deal with it

Thanks guys

i strongly advice against going online without admin passord protection , unless you create a new account without admin rights

like GGJstudios said , its your first line of defence

Hi antdawe,
I never had a password on any of my Macs in the over 20 years of using them.
And don't have any on my 5 Macs now (but I'm an 'expert' user & quite diligent in my usage of ANY computer {also have 4 PCs - no passwords}).
For average user a password is a necessity...
