I recently used the signatures feature in the OS X Lion version of Preview to automatically insert my own signature into a PDF document via an iSight scan of my signature on a blank sheet of paper. Preview takes only the signature written in black in, makes the white background transparent, and can insert it on any horizontal line you tell click.

I did this, typed some other personal info in a fillable electronic PDF file, and emailed it to a contact using Abode Reader on Windows. I was told the file appears empty to them and that they have experienced the same thing with Mac users using Preview to complete electronic fillable PDFs.

My two questions are:
• Does anyone know why this happens with Preview, and if I can somehow use just Preview to fill in electronic fillable PDFs and have it readable on both Windows and OS X platforms on Adobe and non-Adobe PDF readers?
• Is there a way to remove my inserted signature in Preview? I can click through fillable boxes and remove any typed text, but I can't seem to highlight the signature for removal.

Thanks!
