Remove Shadows from OS X

I know this has come up a few times on here but no one seems to really know. There are 1 or 2 really old apps that remove the shadows, but it does not make sense to me to install an app just to remove shadows. seems like that will slow things down. I know when you remove shadows on Windows, it speeds things up.

I want to know if there is a good way to remove shadows, hopefully using the terminal.

Shadows are rendered by the graphic card. It wasn't a performance issue even 10 years ago, with more than 100 windows open. And it surely isn't today.
