There is no need to remove the Micro-SIM from the AT&T iPad unless you have one of the new postpaid data plans. For the pre-paid plans once you cancel the data plan you are protected. You also don't have to cancel the data plan before selling. Just change the account information to remove your Credit Card data and you can even tranfer the iPad data plan to someone else and they can use the remaining 30 days of service or up to the data limit.

It does not contain any personal data and it can be reused. This is based on the pre-paid model data plans. The pre-paid data plans are controlled from the iPad using an email address and password to manage the Credit card access / information. You can also manage the pre-paid account using the AT&T iPad portal. Here is the basic reference to the on iPad management of the Micro-SIM by using Settings > Cellular Data > Cellular Data Plan

ok i went into settings on ipad and did an erase and restore. then went to the att website on my notebook and cancelled and deleted my account, anything else?

Nope, you are all set to resell your iPad.

Just a reminder to use caution when selling via eBay or Craiglist. Follow all the eBay rules to protect your sale. A couple of key items: Tracking numbers and Delivery Signature confirmation ( no exceptions ).

If using Craiglist meet in a public place and remember to check any large bills to make sure they are legit.
