Remove wrench from Chrome toolbar?

Recently a completely pointless wrench icon turned up in my Chrome toolbar. I can't find a preference for it, and Google searching does not seem to reveal a way to get rid of it. I know it's smallish, but it's bugging me and I don't want it there -- does anyone know how to make it go away?

I don't think you can remove it ... I have it too.
