Hello I removed old songs from my iPad which by the way is running iOS 5. But when I go to the Music icon in the iPad and then go to songs and also Albums a generic music icon still shows up with the name of the song. Not sure what to do at this point. Please help.

Did you get this figured out?

I have unsynced music on my iPad and then rebooted it. However, there are a lot of songs still showing the Music app, and they play, too.

I was seeing a lot of duplicates in the music, so I thought there was a sync issue. Now I can't figure out how to remove all these tunes. I would like to avoid resetting the iPad to factory as I have all my apps arranged in folders, and don't want to redo that (and restoring from a backup may cause the music problem to recur).

You guys have iCloud? If so you'll need to manually delete from the device, if not, manually deleting should work regardless.
