1) The lid and bottom do stick by magnetic force by design. Is that what you mean? I haven't noticed any other sticking, but if something sticky got on the parts that contact each other you would get some, of course, and it might cause some noise too. You could also have a bit of hinge noise. It may go away or may not. There's also this possibility:

2) No gap on my 15".

A couple of questions

1) If you leave the lid of your 2016 MacBook Pro closed for a while, does it appear to stick to the bottom case a little bit when you open it and makes a faint noise? Hopefully this is just because it is a few days old and will go away I don't know.

2) Is there a gap between the glass of your display and the rubber gasket going around the lid? I've seen two 13" TB's and both have had this gap and slight reflective lines at the top on the very edge of the glass.

Would appreciate the responses, cheers! :)

I've had a few 2016 machines (couldn't decided between TB & nTB) some make this suction noise, others didn't. My current nTB doesn't, it would get annoying.

Just to clarify, this is what I mean by the gap. Are you sure none of you have it?

That's odd. My screen is flush to the edge all the way round.

It looks like the rubber gasket has been stuck down poorly take it back to Apple and they'll fix it, my 2013 had a similar issue when I bought it but the adhesive was still there and a little pressure got it to stick down fine.

Don't worry about it, including the "reflecting lines", my 13 inch 2016 TB MBP has the exact same thing. I went to the Apple store this weekend to ask the genius about it, they looked it over and agreed they could see it, but every 13 inch on display had it too. The 15 inchers do not have it, I checked on my friend's and at the Apple store. Its not the rubber grommet, the genius explained that the anti reflective coating when applied to the screen can sometimes have those slightly irregular lines on the edge. I'm not as concerned now because I literally inspected each 13 inch TB MBP they had (Staten Island Apple store) and saw the exact same stuff.

Thanks for that. Does yours also make a sort of creaking sound very faint when you open the lid after a while? Im fairly sure it's the rubber thing sticking to the metal base and it only happens when it's been left down for a while.
I notice this too and agree with your theory. It's not the first laptop I've had it happen on either and eventually, I presume as the rubber edge soften, it goes away.
