I haven't had that sound. You may have something sticky on the rubber, or the surface it closes to. A very slightly damp microfiber cloth, and a light touch, might help clean it.

Having the same issue here as well. I keep my nTB obsessively clean as well, no idea what's making the sound. It seems to come from the right side half of the hinge/screen area for me

It's the rubber round the display that making the sound.
Nothing to worry about, it will tear of with time.

Or you can try clean it with a microfiber cutton.

I don't think isopropyl are so good for rubber so I can't recommend you using that. It can dry the rubber out.

I had a couple of replacements for screen issues - some make this noise, others didn't. My current one honest thankfully. It is just the rubber.

Ok so it seems a fair amount have it then. Does anyone else have it/not have it?

I used a small cloth with saturated isopropyl on it left over from a screen protector and the only thing that came off was some black stuff on the cloth. Sound still remains.

It's just the seal creating a small vacuum it means that liquid and dust will struggle to get in as well so it's a good thing.

Are you sure?

I'm not sure without seeing it in person of course but if there is nothing sticky going on then it seems a fair bet. The black that came off with the alcohol is just some of the rubber being taken off by the alcohol that should have cleaned any stickiness.
