Removing a nested table

In copying a list in nested-table formatting on the Internet to Word, I find that I can't clear the formatting or convert the table to text. How can I remove the nested-table formatting? I don't want to have to copy and paste each item.

Removing nested tables: the struggles

Thanks for the quick response. I'm stymied. I don't have a "Print Layout" option on my View menu. I did try "Convert Table to Text," but it didn't solve the problem, and that menu option remains dim (I can't try it again).
