Removing additional smtp servers from list

In my email config it shows multiple secondry smpt servers (which are all set to off).

How can I remove these - do I have to reset my phone to wipe this information?

I have tried deleting the email account but they are there when I create a new one?

you could try setting it up in Mail and then simply syncing

I pressume it will only sync mail accounts in one direction?

Do you have more than one email account setup on your phone? If so, those smtp servers you are seeing belong to the other mail accounts. You are allowed to use them as a fail over in case your main account can't send emails.

No I only have one account.

I started off with 1 pop account.

Then created an IMAP account and deleted the pop account. Yet I have one primary smtp server and two additional smtp servers!

Goto Settings->Mail, Contact, Calendars-> and click on your email account. Scroll down and click on the smtp server. Click on one of the other servers, then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Delete Server".

Apologies, usually I avoid dragging up old threads, however this was at the top of my google results.

Under iOS 4.0.1 I've found that as mentioned, the delete button doesn't appear by default.

1. Rename the host eg smtp instead of smtp.live.com
2. Accept when it complains the server can't be contacted.
3. Choose Done.
4. Choose the connector now called smtp
5. Scroll down and click the delete button

I don't know why this is and I find it annoying, I've been looking for this solution for about 6 months and had many copies of smtp.live.com from re-adding my account.

Your idea worked...!!!!

I have read so many suggestions for this and none of them allowed me to get the Delete button. The closest was to delete host name completely but as soon as you delete the last letter, the "Done" button becomes inactive.

I still have one secondayr SMTP server where I can't access the fields at all.
Any suggestions....

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work any more on iOS 4.2.1 ... you can't save the settings with an invalid server name ...

Correction: it does work, the settings do get saved (just change the server name by adding or deleting a character) and when you edit the settings again a large red Delete option is there.
