Hey guys. I called apple support and all and now I will be sending in my iPod for repair. But my iPod is jailbroken. I am on 5.0.1. If i go to software update and update there..will ALL i mean ALL traces of a jailbreak was pn this ipod e gone or do i HAVE to restore it? Please tell me if your 100% sure or not.

Thanks

Chances are they won't bother, BUT, if you want your iPod to be as Apple intended it, you have to restore it. If you update, you WILL lose almost 1 GB of room, which is the partition Cydia creates when installed.

Have a g'day.

How will i lose 1gb from cydia if i update. Is it from the software itself or no. Cus i read around and stuff and say that itll be like a normal unjailbrolen ipod if i just update.

I would restore it first, even if it wasn't jailbroken. Just make sure you do a complete backup.
