I am new to Mac, and i want to ask you guys a question.

I have Mac OS X 10.4.9.

I wanted to ask how i can safely remove any useless applications from the computer. For instance, i have new Microsoft Messenger, and an old MSN Messenger. How do i completely remove the second one?

Thank you for your attention :)

You should also try out AppZapper, it'll get rid of the things you cannot see that you're trying to remove.

There is a program out there called AppZapper, I use it and its great. But I think you have to pay... but my friend accidentally bought it for two computers (didn't know that one key works for multiple computers) and gave me his unused key for free! Great program, it even removes hidden files and terminal commands (if you want) related to that application you are removing.

Ah.. jessica beat me to it by one minute :)

Another good free application uninstaller is uApp. It works great for me.

@Zwhaler

Do you want to share where you got that free version? :D

It's a shareware application ($13), but the devs are known for almost always offering discounts and free licenses. There's no one place to get one, you just have to look around.

Recently, there was a blog post here that was raffling 5 licenses for AZ and Disco just for commenting on that post. Who knows, perhaps you win. :)
