Hello all Iphone users

This all started yesterday when my internet went out and my carrier couldn't get over here until Thur to get it fixed. My friend said I could jailbreak my phone with Cydia and use my iPhone 4 as a personal hotspot. ok, cool, easy fix until I can get it back up and running. I put it on my phone and then I noticed many of my apps where not working. At this time I'm starting to think my little iPhone is no longer a virgin! lol!
So I back everything up on iTunes and try to restore my phone though settings. Followed all the instructions pinned to the top of this forum and I'm having problems. I have my phone hooked up to my Mac and iTunes pops up and I hit restore ( and go though all the crap, agree to terms, ect). Then I get this error:
"There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone "iPhone". An unknown error occurred (-49).
Under that: Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later. "
Well. my internet is working. I'm on it right now.
What am I doing wrong? I have been without my phone all afternoon farting with this thing and I am lost and grumpy!!
