Removing dock?

Ok, I've tried all sorts of things with winterboard, but nothing ever really happens. I'm on 4.2.1 (although I couldn't figure it out on 4.1 either), and I'd like to not only lose the reflections, but also that semi-transparent bar similar to what's seen on OSX. I just wan.t the apps to be free floating like all the other apps
