I use an SSD for additional storage on my Macbook. There's some folders that I want to delete from it, but there is no option to move to the bin. If I try dragging to the bin, the files remain on the SSD. Is there a way to do this?

I'm guessing this is a USB attached SSD? It could be the format the drive has... Seems I ran into that once. Check the format of the drive. See if it's exFAT or something. I can't remember how I resolved it, or if I even did. It was a USB thumb drive I was using between my Windows machine and Air so I don't think I did anything about it. It seems I also had the issue with a USB attached spinner drive, but eventually I reformatted that drive. I might see if I can recreate that myself if I can find one here that I don't care about. Check yours though and let us know.
I simply right-click on the item I wish to delete and highlight "Move to Trash." Works for me! First thing I always do when getting a new external SSD is to reformat it to APFS, as that is how my computers are configured.
