I added a picture folder in Desktop & Screensaver and now I want to remove it since the pics don't exist anymore, can someone provide some assistance on how to remove this folder from the screensaver menu list on the left side?

Go to the Desktop & Screen Saver section of the System Preferences. Highlight the folder you want to delete and press the minus icon.

Let me double check when I get home today from work but if I recall correctly last night when I was trying to remove the folder I don't recall seeing the option for the +/- icon like the other folders when I highlighted the particular folder that I wanted to delete.

If it's not actually a folder, but instead an album in iPhoto, then, no, you won't be able to do it the way suggested above. Instead, you'll have to delete the album from within iPhoto. Very simple, just launch iPhoto, select it from the list on the left, and press the delete key.
