Removing iPhone (with iOS 4) UDID from developer account.

Quick question, if I have OS 4.0 beta 4 on an iPhone 3GS and remove the UDID from the developer account while it is being used, is the phone deactivated and unable to make calls? If so, when does this occur? Immediately? On next iTunes sync? Next update?
