I have made sure the seeting in mail to download messages from server is set, but it dosn't seem to be actuly downloading the meseges. When I go to my adelphia webmail, the messeages are still there. Is there a known fix for this issue? I have never used Mail before, I always used Entourage, but I pissed me off so I am using Mail till I find something else. Any suggestions.

Thanks in advance

Mail > Preferences > Accounts > [select the account] > Advanced

Plenty of options there for immediate or delayed deletions.

cheers

I have it set to do immediate delete. But it still will not remove the messeages from the server. Could it be a problem with Adelphia's mail server? I contacted them but there tech support sucks something horrid, so there were of no help what so ever.

I never had these problems before, so I am leaning more towards Mail itself being the problem. I will try a different mail client. What are some other good ones I can try besides Entourage. If there are open source that would be great.

Thanks for the quike reply.

For some strange reason, my .Mac webmail does this to me (.Mac mail is IMAP-based). Refreshing the webmail window clears the issue up, though.

My university Novell Groupwise e-mail account has this issue too -- but not my Yahoo account. Even if I try the "Remove Now" button from the preferences, it doesn't delete them. But in my Yahoo account, it does exactly what I expect. Maybe I need to take the plunge and convert this inbox it IMAP.
