I installed MS Office 2004 on my brand new MacBook and accidentally switched my first and last name in the fields. Now all of the programs reverse my name. This is especially a problem in Entourage. I tried using the uninstaller and then reinstalled with the correct order. Although my name shows up properly in the Office apps. when they launch, Entourage STILL reverses everything by default.

Can anyone tell me how to completely remove Office 2004 and ALL the preferences, so I can do a "virgin" install and get it right?

Thanks!

The following preference files are not removed by the uninstaller:

  • com.microsoft.Excel.plist
  • com.microsoft.OfficeNotifications.plist
  • com.microsoft.Entourage.plist
  • com.microsoft.Word.plist
  • com.microsoft.PowerPoint.plist

They can be found in your Home Library's Preference folder. In addition, you may want to trash a folder named simply Microsoft from that same folder. :)

mad jew, thank you!!! I can't wait to delete those blasted preferences that have been causing me all that grief! Happy Holidays :)
