Removing persons from groups in Apple Contacts

Hello,

I have, apparently, several groups that sync via my Google account onto my macOS Contacts app. However, I can't remove any persons from any group, nor can I edit (change the name) or delete any of those groups themselves. So there's literally nothing I can do with these groups. The menu entries for removing a contact from a group is greyed out too. Where do these groups come from, and how do I edit them?

I'm on Big Sur, by the way.

If they sync to your Google account, try going to https://contacts.google.com and change the groups from Google's end. Groups there may be called "Labels".
