Removing photos that display for contacts?

All of a sudden, all of the photos that display for my contacts when they call are wrong. I have gone into some of my contacts and deleted the photos for the contacts, though when certain people call me, photos show up even though they are not in my contacts and the photos that display are not for the contact person.

Are you syncing your contacts to any cloud service (iCloud, Google, Yahoo)?

Not that I am aware of. Is there anywhere that I can check the settings to determine?

Check your accounts in "Mail, Contacts and Calendars" to see if contacts are "on" for any of them.
