Hi all,

I'd like to get rid of the "Custom" option in the energy saver menu-drop-down. As far as I can see it's exactly the same under all situations as my current "normal" settings, and for some reason it just bugs me.

Is it possible to delete a custom profile?

Running Leopard on a new mbp

Thanks

I'd like to know this as well. Does anyone know the answer to this? Thanks!

Trying to Figure This Out Too

I'm also trying to figure out how to remove the "Custom" option from the drop down. Any help would be great.

Solution

The Custom option is there because you have a file /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.PowerManagement.plist

It's in the root Library, so you need to be an admin to remove it. Running this command from the Terminal will do it:

sudo rm /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.PowerManagement.plist

and the "Custom" profile will disappear (for sure after a restart).
