Hello there,

Does anyone know if it's possible to get rid of the animation that accompanies full-screening videos on macOS—the one that shows them moving to their own virtual desktop? I generally like macOS animations and find that they make things feel more fluid… except this one; it's weirdly slow and buggy. I don't mind using a 3rd party utility for this if necessary.

Thanks!

I’m not sure what you are referring to, but you can try to enable Reduce motion
Reduce screen motion on Mac https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/reduce-screen-motion-mchlc03f57a1/mac
I recorded a short video showcasing it:

See how the desktop in the background slides over to the left? It's working smoothly right now, but when there's a lot open on the system, that animation becomes ridiculously slow. Reduce Motion does get rid of it, but I don't want to get rid of all the other animations just to get rid of this one.
