Somehow I have a version that only can be run in Big Sur 11.3 and up. Since I have Catalina and cannot upgrade to Big Sur (I have a 2013 iMac) how can I remove the Safari version I have and replace it with a working version of Safari?

I have tried to restore Safari from a Time Machine backup but that failed. I disabled System Integrity Protection (SIP) that didn't help.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi! I'd suggest to review several backups through Finder or "enter time machine" interface and restore Safari from the date before the update. If that doesn't help, try reinstalling macOS through recovery mode and that should put back safari version that came with the OS originally.
p.s. don't worry about the data, reinstalling the OS only replaces system files so all your passwords and apps will remain intact
