How do I remove the user accounts menu item from my menu bar? This pesky thing is useless on only one account and takes up way to much space. I tried CMD Click Dragging it out once and it just duplicated itself. I tried to CMD Click Drag the dupe out but it will not leave my menu bar

I have looked all around on how to do that and can not find a solution. After about 20 google searches I could not come up with anything so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance

Disable fast user switching. It's somewhere in the Accounts Preference Panel.

System Preferences > System > Accounts > (unlock, if necessary) > Login Options > uncheck "Enable fast user switching"

"... or hold down the command key and click and drag the menu off the menu bar." This will remove it from the menu bar, but will not disable fast user switching.

Thanks that works wonders.
