hello everyone,

So I just decided to do a clean install of High Sierra on my second hand MBP and I just got a prompt that this was apparently a Verizon Enterprise computer and from the install screen before even finishing setup they have software installed to monitor etc.

This was bought from a legit place and I even called Apple to have the serial checked to make sure it wasn’t reported stolen. Anyway, not happy about the idea of some under the hood software potentially controlling or having access to my system. Anyone have any ideas of a way I can remove this or make sure it remains disabled? It comes with a Pulse Secure VPN which I removed bt I can still see and as soon as I open the web browser a message that they might be monitoring me.

Still any insight to dealing with a computer like this is appreciated. Not 100% there still isn’t something watching me.

Some companies use Apple's "Mobile Device Management" software to lockdown Macs. If MDM has been setup on that Mac it could be in firmware and a OS wipe/install will not get rid of it. So the fact you erased and it is gone makes me think Verizon did not have MDM enabled.

You'd need to contact Verizon and ask that the device be removed from their DEP plan/program. Apple may not know if the device is stolen, but Verizon would certainly know if the device was legitimately divested and someone just missed removing the serial number from their DEP account.

Awesome will do. Thanks!
