removing xp items after parallels uninstall

there were too many issues (mostly bloat) running
parallels 3 with home xp. have removed virtual machine and
parallels but still have 2 folders left over: a 'winxp.hdd' (83 gb) and
a 'xp.vpc' (9gb). can these simply be removed safely and will all windows
files and data be removed with them, or does something else need to
happen.
later i'd like to go to bootcamp but want that to be a
completely fresh install.
