All my photos are sorted by name and I would like them to be renamed according to their date taken, which is taken from each photo's EXIF tag. Is there any way to do that?

I've tried Automator and iPhoto but they don't have any features like that. The only thing that I know of that works is A Better Finder Attributes, but that costs money. So I'm looking for a freeware program.

Not sure if there is a Mac app for this, but I've used Stamp 2.8 on the Windows side with good success. You can find it here:

One thing I like about it is that it will keep all versions of the same photograph (which obviously have the same EXIF date), so you don't have to worry about overwriting the originals.
