Rename preferences?

Is there a way to adjust the preferences in the Rename function?
Question 1, If I do Name and Counter the Counter has a five digit number, could I make this a three digit counter?
Question 2, If I do a Name and Date is there anyway to change the date format?

Any insights are appreciated, not looking at installing a third party app to do this, just wondering.

You can create a custom Rename Quick Action with Shortcuts and Automator.
