I just want to rename this entire batch KITCHEN and I can't do it...It comes up with this stupid menus...I want to get rid of the jpg at the end of the name of the picture. any ideas?

It is probably a BAD idea to remove the file extension. It is an indication of what is in the files.

As the .jpg offends you need to tell Finder to hide the extension. So I suggest your question should be "how to hide the extension of a folder full of files?". The answer is:

For one file at a time you can just do this in File Info (Cmd-I when the file is elected in Finder) and tick the hide file extension.

For many files (as in your case), select all the files. Press Command-Option-I. That displays a single Info Window and you can tick the Hide Extension box.
