i bought a second hand imac from a store in London and they had changed the owners name to the name of the store. I have changed the name of the mac and the owner of the mac but in finder the main group of folders still says the name of the store. how do i change this to my name?

Do you mean the folder with the "house" icon? If so, create a new admin user with your name and delete the old one.

yes its the folder with the house icon. I have changed the name in users and groups but if i right click on the house icon and click get info, under name and extension it says the name of the store and i can't change that.
Because that is the name of that home folder, it can be changed, but is not that easy for a beginner.
Why do you not create your own admin account and delete the store account?
