See For yourself

Well it be the next greatest 'update your software since versiontracker' or well the previously deadly version torment this product?

Use it yourself and see what you think!

:)

For thoses of you who don't know what this product is, it has a database of products and scans the users Computer to see what products you have insatalled if a newer version is avaible it allows you to grab it.

Good in theory, but this is a real test for the program.

The Original one had crashed almost every System Preference that had anyone loaded, I am quite sure however this is more stable.

Cnet had a web based one for PCs. They discontinued it for some reason. It wasn't great, but it was free, and it never screwed anything up.

If this program works as well as Cnet's did, it would be nice. But if it causes more damage than it fixes... maybe I'll wait a little while to try it.

Any brave people out there having better luck with the current build?

it does not seem to work for me... i just wanted to install 1 app namely, acrobat reader 5.0.1 to 5.1.

and it does not seem to do anything.

well, i did not register it... that may be the problem...

well...

a lil warning...

hi guys.

i pray, do not use this program (yet).

i got some "old" software, that i seldom use in my firewire drive.

now, my firewire drive cannot mount!!!

i am using drive 10 right now, to correct the problem.

i hope it works out. i will keep you posted!

D'OH!!

ok.

drive 10 cannot fix the problem. somehow the volume structure cannot be reproduced.

hmm... any suggestions guys?

the Apple Disk Utility still recognizes the HD size. but it cannot mount it...

I downloaded it. The UI is kinda buggy, but it is a beta, afterall, isn't it? However, when I told it to Update Now, it didn't find Yahoo Messenger X 2.5.2. I dunno, maybe it's because I had Yahoo Messenger in /Applications/Infrequently Used, instead of just /Applications.

In any case, I trashed it...it didn't seem worth the hassle, especially with the warnings I've been reading from other users in this thread.

Thanks Mod for re-uniting the thread, it seemed redundent.
:p

So another version of beta crashing, yay... I will not install.

Try running fsck redAPPLE. That might solve it... if not sorry.
